In creating a mission statement for our company we have to reflect on who we are and what we want to do. Of course we want to have a sucessful business but just as important is our desire to make a positive difference in the world. The idea of 'aid through trade'- following fair trade practices - has been our guiding principal.

The world is full of beautiful products. Not the mass produced kind that you find in the big box stores, but unique items, often made by hand, by local people from across the globe. These are the products that we want to source for our customers. Our mission is to find these beautiful items made in small workshops or as part of co-operative ventures that benefit local communities. It is important that the people who make these products, often from a society with fewer opportunities than our own, must benefit directly from our trading association.

This is our mission. In fulfilling our mission we hope to bring you products bring beauty and happiness into the lives of all, both producers in the far-off lands and consumers here at home.
